A very nice pair of cast iron finials with traces of original red paint. The finials, I believe are in the form of pineapples. The bottom portion where the post would be inserted have been partially broken off, however the pin inside which would stab into a wooden post, are intact. The finials were found in Virginia and are from the 19th century. They are 9" tall overall and 5 1/2" across fattest part.
The inside diameter of the opening is 3 1/8 and each one weighs 12 lbs 6 oz. You can see these cool antiques and many other antiques at the Columbia Rivertowne Antique Center, Columbia, PA.
