This is a 12 tall antique cast iron horse head with a majestic mien. It has a screw bottom and holes in the base so I believe it was a finial. There are no holes for a ring so not sure if it was a hitching post. There is some chipping in the cast iron as shown in the photos. It is 8 1/2" long; the base is 6" diameter and it weighs 13 lbs.
