Antique Cast Iron Hitching Post Topper Unique Victorian Design Post Top Only

  
This is a really nice example of a unique hitching post topper with a bullseye design but with floral decoration in center of bullseye. It is a ball and box design which could be continental but more likely was a Victorian era fancy post. The side opposite has a hole which could have been to connect it to a fence. The paint is original and the patina is amazing, found outside of NYC.

The post topper is 13" tall and the box is 4 1/2" square and the opening on the bottom is 3 1/8 diameter. There is a portion of the original post inside which means it was cut off. It is loose and could be removed to remount the topper.
